Zdeněk Mézl has been awarded many prestigious prizes, e.g. the main prize of the International Book Fair in Bologna, the 1975 medal of the International Biennial in Malbork, the 1972 bronze medal of IBA in Leipzig, the 1978 prize in the competition for the Most Beautiful Book and the 1983-84 prize of the Association of Czech Bibliophiles.
