Aleš Lamr

Aleš Lamr was born on June 12, 1943, in Olomouc, in a family settled during several generations in Litovel. He comes from a stove makers´and ceramists´ family working actively up to date.
From 1960 to 1964 he studied at Secondary School of Applied Arts, studio of 3-D arts in Brno under professor J. A. Šálek. During his compulsory army service the artist had the possibility to work as an artist. Then he shortly worked at Barrandov Film Studios as an assistant director. Since 1968 has been registered at former SČVU, today Union of Artists as a free-lance artist. The most important travels abroad he did in 1969 to Sweden, 1975 to France, 1976 to the USA, later quite often travelled through western Europe.
Aleš Lamr works actively as a graphic artist, sculptor and ceramist and has created number of important works for architecture.
